If you have any desire to buy in the next year you might want to push your self to get serious in the next six month because the experienced real estate professionals are starting to agree this may be truly the bottom. With interest rates going down and the last of the wave of foreclosure sure to follow the supply of homes may soon be reduced as savvy buyers are soon to buy up the inventory and reduce the supply. I expect this to take from six months to a year from next December.
The best buys right now are the newer or new homes. Once these homes are sold these low price will not be replicated because you can not build them at the prices that these homes are priced.
The next best buys are raw land. The supply is going to be really limited once contractors decide to buy again.
The last group that will be depleted are the older homes located on excellent location with a need to be updated. Once the newer homes are sold this will be the only option.
